A Step Forward, But the Journey Isn’t Over

On August 3, 2025, my brother, Ezaka Desmond Chinedu, a dedicated farmer from Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria, suffered a terrible accident that left him fighting for his life. He was rushed to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), one of Nigeria’s leading hospitals.

For weeks, Desmond was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), battling severe injuries that affected his brain and nervous system. By God’s grace and the skill of the doctors, he has now been moved to the Neurology Ward. This is a huge relief — he is breathing on his own and improving — but his journey to recovery is far from over. He still requires continuous neurological care and therapy to regain strength and function.

THE FINANCIAL BURDEN WE FACE

Desmond has now spent 39 days in the hospital, including 24 days in ICU. The medical costs have been overwhelming, and our family’s resources are exhausted. He was the main provider through farming, but with him unable to work, we are left with no steady income.
