Renowned Nollywood actor and comedian, Okey Bakassi, has been officially crowned as the traditional ruler of the Umuihuocha Autonomous Community in Mbaise, Imo State.
In a video shared on Tuesday via his Instagram page, Bakassi—now bearing the title His Royal Highness Eze Okechukwu Onyegbule, the Okwe II of Umuihuocha Obohia—was presented to the community in a colorful and culturally rich coronation ceremony.
The event was a vibrant display of Igbo heritage, with community members gathering to honor the new monarch. Sharing the moment with his followers, the actor captioned the video: “Special presentation as king (Eze) of Umuihuocha community.”
According to GBEDUCITY, the coronation took place just two weeks after Bakassi publicly announced his selection as the community’s new traditional ruler.
